Nat Or Not is a natural wine importer based in Belgium, born from a simple yet profound conviction: wine has meaning. Founded by Philippe, a dedicated winemaker in the Languedoc region—whose wines earned a Hachette Wine Guide award in only his second vintage—and former official taster for the Saint-Chinian AOC, the project draws on rare and authentic hands-on experience. Here, every bottle offered has been listened to, tasted, and appreciated before being selected. The ambition is to bring nature to the table with pleasure: to restaurants, wine bars—the entire hospitality sector—businesses, and individuals who seek to drink better, better, and more responsibly. It is from this philosophy that the identity of Nat Or Not was born: a name that is already a question and a grand promise.
Nat Or Not's selection brings together natural, organic, and biodynamic wines for fine dining, sourced from independent winemakers who cultivate their land and vines with unadulterated care. Balance, terroir, and fruit: each cuvée should evoke genuine emotion, like a perfect melody, whether light or bold, festive or elegant. The winery features both established estates renowned for their expertise and emerging talents who rival the very best. Among the flagship wines is Olivier Horiot, an independent winemaker from the Côte des Bar in Les Riceys, whose still and sparkling wines are considered among the finest examples of natural wine in Champagne. And also Michel Autran, Sylvain Dittière, Alice and Olivier De Moor, Marie and Vincent Tricot, Nicola Renaud and Lolita Sene, Julien Meyer, and so many others... For those who wish to explore and indulge themselves without breaking the bank, a carefully curated selection of wines offers structure, fruit, and character, perfect for enjoying during the week or on weekends, with or without a special occasion.
Beyond sales, Nat Or Not plays an active role in transmitting and democratizing the culture of natural wine in Belgium. Philippe and Sarah lead private tastings and workshops for both curious amateurs and professionals in the hospitality industry: restaurateurs, sommeliers, private chefs, and event organizers. This educational dimension is also central to the project: understanding what we drink, a terroir, a method, is also about learning to respect the work of those who make the wine, and respecting ourselves as consumers. The Nat Or Not blog extends this mission online, with articles on grape varieties, appellations, winemaking techniques, and organic practices: a vibrant resource for anyone wishing to delve deeper into the world of natural wine. Drinking well is also about feeling good.
Nat Or Not exclusively imports wines from small, family-run estates located within 2,000 kilometers: a deliberate choice to limit their carbon footprint and maintain a direct connection with the winemakers. These wines are made without chemical or oenological additives, with very little or no added sulfites; the vines, cultivated organically or biodynamically, receive no chemical treatment. Unfined, unfiltered, and never pasteurized, they preserve the essentials: the authentic taste of the grape, the unique characteristics of the terroir, and the singularity of each vintage. Visiting the vineyards, talking with the winemakers, understanding their methods, and sharing their visions—this is the direct connection that Philippe and Sarah cultivate and pass on, bottle after bottle. Because behind every glass, there is a land, a man and/or a woman, and a way of doing things that deserves to be known and savored.
