How can innovation promote the reuse of packaging in the hospitality sector? This is the challenge that students from three universities will take on during the second edition of the Vrackathon, which we are organizing.
For one morning, students from EPHEC in Louvain-la-Neuve, HEPN in Namur, and HECH in Gembloux will combine their skills in entrepreneurship and innovation, hotel management, and eco-friendly packaging design. Together, they will develop concrete solutions to facilitate the use of reusable packaging in the hospitality industry and reduce waste.
On the agenda
Discovering the challenges of bulk buying and reuse
Exchanges with industry stakeholders
Collective reflection
Ideation
Presentation of the concepts imagined by the teams
The goal is not to develop a finished prototype, but to generate innovative, realistic and impactful ideas.
An event of the European Week for Waste Reduction
This edition is part of the European Week for Waste Reduction (November 21-29, 2026) and our VRAC-ACADEMIE project, which raises awareness among students about bulk buying and reuse and encourages collaboration between the academic world and players in the circular economy.
